Non-Executive Directorship (NED)
Risks affect all activities of companies and they can severely impact performance. It is the duty of the Board of Directors to understand and manage them, but this can appear to be a challenging task: the Board may be absorbed by some day to day operations of the company, incur spending and realize too late some commitments were not adapted, or be forced to act under constraint they do not control. Those risks, if crystallized, can significantly drain the company financial resources and the time of the Board; the latter pressured to focusing principally on managing a crisis without time left to work on strategy and company growth.
In order to alleviate this, the Board must have a constructive challenge to its strategy and its execution plans, which will lead to better informed decisions and will minimize the occurrence of severe problems in the future. I do this as a NED, bringing an agnostic and independent perspective on the strategy and the risks whilst supporting the Board in achieving its ambitious goals.
These perspective and risk analysis expertise, I acquired them during the past fifteen years during which I worked as Chief Risk Officer and Head of Risk Management in various financial investment institutions, covering companies operating all over the world, across a large span of industries working with a variety of cultures. The risk analysis methods I use are based on best practices, have been tested on numerous company cases on which I have worked, and the outcome and solution brought were tailored to the reality of what each company is.
Caring for a company’s success, loving to share its passion and vision, I can bring an experience on managing and govern risks better, and be influential in delivering an overall improved risk-based decision-making.
